Traditional Baptism in Oxford followed by Low Mass in the chapel of St Philip. .Solemn High Mass at St Mary`s Cathedral, Newcastle

We were delighted at the numbers at the service, both of confirmands (39) and the congregation. Two other confirmation services have taken place last  year in the extraordinary form, one for St Philip's School and one in the diocese of Nottingham

The Baptism was very well attended and we spread right across the nave in order to assist at Mass.

We were delighted at the numbers at the service, both of confirmands (39) and the congregation. Two other confirmation services have taken place this year in the extraordinary form, one for St Philip's School and one in the diocese of Nottingham, so numbers overall are clearly on a strong upward curve.

Saturday`s Mass was a great success. The congregation filled the centre aisles of the cathedral. It was hard to estimate how many people were there but the figure of 150 is being quoted on other blogs. It certainly wasn`t any less than that. It shows what can be done when the Extraordinary Form is celebrated at a convenient time and location. Many thanks to all who made it possible on Saturday.
