Monseñor Terrence Prendergast, Arzobispo de Ottawa, ordenó, con los libros litúrgicos tradicionales, a dos nuevos sacerdotes de la Fraternidad Sacerdotal de San Pedro, el pasado 13 de junio, fiesta de San Antonio, en la Capilla del Seminario de San Jacinto, en Quebec, Canadá.

Confirmaciones tradicionales en South Dakota

La pasada fiesta de la Ascensión, Monseñor Paul Joseph Swain, Obispo de Sioux Falls, administró el sacramento de la Confirmación, con los libros litúrgicos tradicionales, en la iglesia de Santa María, en Salem, Dakota del Sur, Estados Unidos, y asistió en coro a la celebración de la Santa Misa con el Misal de San Juan XXIII.

His Eminence Cardinal Burke to our Church to celebrate a Solemn Pontifical Mass for the feast of Our Holy Father St Philip, in the 5th centenary of his birth.

Vespers for the Order of Malta

Last Wednesday, His Eminence Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke, Patronus of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, was present for Vespers in our church for the Order.

His Eminence had earlier in the day met members of the Companions of the Order of Malta, who do wonderful work in Oxford with their homeless Shower Project, soup runs, visiting the sick and elderly and other corporal works of mercy. Cardinal Burke was greatly impressed by the Companions and warmly encouraged them in the twofold ministry of the Order of Malta: the care of the poor and the defence of the Faith.

The Vespers was that of the Octave of Pentecost, and the four coped cantors were an Oratorian, a Jesuit, a Benedictine and a Dominican - which sounds like the beginning of a joke about going into a bar, but here is a manifestation of the rich variety of Catholic life in this city.

After Vespers, the Cardinal gave Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, before going on to deliver a lecture at the University Chaplaincy on "The Legacy of Pope Benedict XVI".

Philip's Day with HE Cardinal Burke

We were honoured to welcome His Eminence Cardinal Burke to our Church to celebrate a Solemn Pontifical Mass for the feast of Our Holy Father St Philip, in the 5th centenary of his birth.

We were joined by many friends and visitors, including the Rt Rev. Hugh Allan O.Praem., Prior of the Norbertine community in Chelmsford, and many local clergy and Knights of Malta.

In his sermon, the Cardinal encouraged each one of us to take St Philip as an example of how to transform the world in Christ. His full sermon can be read here.
   
The Archbishop very kindly leant us Bishop Ullathorne's crozier for the Cardinal to use.

On Wednesday, Fr Daniel took the Cardinal on a tour of Oxford. Here he is pictured next to the bust of Blessed John Henry Newman in Trinity College.

Mgr Elmar Fischer, évêque émérite de Feldkirch en Autriche a ordoné au diaconat 9 séminaristes de la Fraternité Saint-Pierre(FSSP) . Ordination de 4 Sémiraristes de la Fraternité Saint-Pierre au sous-diaconat et au diaconat, au séminaire de Denton. U.S.A.

2015 - Diaconat

En ce samedi 16 mai, nous étions de retour dans l'église paroissiale de Gestratz (où avaient déjà été conférés en février le sous-diaconat et les ordres mineurs), pour la cérémonie du diaconat.

Neuf séminaristes (quatre Français, deux Allemands, un Tchèque, un Anglo-australien et un Autrichien), ainsi qu'un moine cistercien de l'abbaye de Mariawald ont donc reçu ce premier degré du sacrement de l'ordre, précédé la veille de l'incorporation définitive dans la Fraternité Saint-Pierre. Nous sommes très reconnaissants envers Mgr Elmar Fischer, évêque émérite de Feldkirch en Autriche, pour sa gentillesse et sa disponibilité. 

L'imposition de la main droite, matière du sacrement

Le diacre ( du grec diaconos : "serviteur") a mission de prêcher, de catéchiser, de baptiser, de marier, et d'assister les prêtres dans tous les aspects du ministère. Après un dernier mois passé au séminaire, nos neuf nouveaux lévites seront dispersés dans les différents apostolats de la Fraternité, pour une année de service, ponctuée de quelques sessions d'étude. Enfin, à la fin du mois de juin 2016, ils deviendront, si Dieu veut, prêtres pour l'éternité.
