The blog of the Capitulum Laicorum Sancti Michaelis Archangeli in Budapest, Hungary, report an event of particular significance for the usus antiquior in that country; namely, the celebration of a Solemn Pontifical Mass from the Faldstool by the local Auxiliary Bishop of Vác at the minor basilica of Mátraverebély-Szentkút, the national shrine of Hungary -- the first Solemn Pontifical Mass in the usus antiquior by a Hungarian bishop since the time of the Council.
The Bishop was greeted by the head of the Franciscan community which administers the shrine, Fr. Peregrin Kálmán OFM, and the Office of Terce was sung by the gathered congregation.
Members of the Capitulum Laicorum S. Michaelis Archangeli took a role in the execution of this liturgy, as well as some Hungarian seminarians.
Here are a few photographs of the event.

Kenrick Seminary celebrates Solemn Mass (Usus Antiquior)
The NLM received word today that the seminarians at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in St. Louis spent the day today in a workshop on the usus antiquior. The workshop began with a Solemn Mass offered at the old Kenrick Seminary Chapel (now the Cardinal Rigali Center), celebrated by Fr. Karl Lenhardt of the Institute of Christ the King -- who also recently celebrated the Sept. 14th Mass on EWTN with great excellence.
Here are some photos of the event.
